GEA was founded by a former British Deputy High Commission officer whose career has been built on one belief: strong institutions deserve strong global partners.
John Bunter
John Bunter served as an officer of the British Deputy High Commission in Mumbai for eight years. Based in Pune, he has worked in India's education sector for more than 15 years and has led delegations of Indian higher-education institutions to the UK on behalf of the British High Commission. He has also facilitated the establishment of an institute delivering a UK degree partly in India, with international collaboration as a core area of expertise.
John later served as Regional Director – India for Cormack Consultancy Group, UK, where he established its pan-India operations and developed relationships with more than 60 Indian universities and higher-education institutions.
He has extensive knowledge of India's higher-education landscape and has worked closely with senior leadership across leading institutions. He was also a key coordinator for the Royal Visit to Pune in November 2014.
John subsequently established Global Education Alliance with like-minded professionals from the international education sector.
